TALLER DE PILATES E IMPROVISACIÓN

A través de la utilización de ejercicios basados en la técnica Pilates y de improvisación, este taller sugerirá un camino para facilitar y dar soporte al movimiento creativo y escénico, a la vez que se encontrarán conexiones en el propio cuerpo-mente.
La técnica Pilat...es tiene una larga reputación en las artes escénicas tanto en la prevención de lesiones como en la ayuda artística. El método Somático promueve no sólo el estudio de ejercicios, sino un entendimiento más profundo de cómo el cuerpo/mente se mueve y cómo podemos tener acceso a este potencial, permitiendo un viaje de autodescubrimiento. La improvisación será utilizada como un instrumento para favorecer un modo más orgánico de incorporar habilidades técnicas - como el movimiento desde el centro, la articulación de la columna, la distribución del peso, la apertura de cadera, de piernas y el plié -.
Profesora
Monica Giacomin se ha formado como Profesora de Pilates en el Laban Centre de Londres y es performer en el campo de los artes escénicas (teatro físico, mimo corporal y danza).
Se ha especializado en el trabajo con bailarines y actores. Su interés se centra en explorar el cuerpo humano en movimiento, desde sus aspectos naturales hasta el movimiento con objetivos estéticos o/y artísticos. Además de su práctica docente, continua explorando los procesos creativos del teatro-danza.
Máx. número de participantes: 15
Requisitos: experiencia en artes escénicas (danza, teatro físico, mimo, circo, artes marciales, etc.). Se puede tomar el taller si se tiene una lesión a condición de que se avise al profesor por adelantado para asegurar que no haya ninguna contraindicación específica.

PILATES AND IMPROVISATION WORKSHOP

Through the use of both Pilates based exercises, hands-on activities and improvisation the workshop will suggest a journey to facilitate and support performative movement, whilst finding connections within one’s own body-mind. The main fields of exploration are: Somatic Pilates, Experiential Anatomy, Movement Improvisation.
The Pilates technique has had a long standing reputation with in the performing arts both as injury prevention and performance enhancement. The Somatic approach promotes not just the learning of exercises but a deeper understanding of how the body/mind moves and how we can access this potential, enabling a journey of self-discovery. Improvisation will be used as a tool to favour a more organic way of embodying technical skills -such as moving from the centre, spinal articulation, weight distribution on the feet, hip opening, turn out and plie.
Teacher
Monica Giacomin trained as a Pilates Teacher at the Laban Centre (London) and her background is in the field of performance (spanning from Physical Theatre, thorough Corporeal Mime, to Contemporary Dance).
She has specialized in working with dancers and performers. Her interest is in exploring the multilayered dimension of the human body moving, from its natural aspects into movement with an esthetical purpose. Alongside her teaching practice she continues to explore the creativity process of dance-theatre making.

Requisite: movement background (mime, dance, physical theatre, circus, martial arts, etc.) The workshop can be taken if you are currently injured provided you let the teacher know in advance to ensure there are no specific contraindication.

Laboratorio MOVEO de enero: EL ACTOR Y LA LUCHA: PESO, DEPORTE, ESFUERZO
El primer drama, nuestra primera lucha, es la lucha contra la gravedad terrestre. Todos estamos sometidos a ella, y todos tenemos que ponernos y quedarnos de pie cada día. A partir de esta afirmación, Etienne Decroux desarrolló dif...erentes retratos físicos, categorías de actuación, según las cuales esta lucha se hace visible, como en el caso del deportista, del trabajador, o invisible, cuando queremos esconder el esfuerzo que hacemos.
Más allá, para el actor, la gravedad, el control y el juego con el peso son un campo de investigación física para desarrollar el retrato de nuestros estados de ánimo, esperanzas, luchas y combates, para crear metáforas, para hacer visible lo invisible....
¿Qué estudiaremos?
¿Cómo llegar a utilizar el esfuerzo como metáfora del estado de ánimo?
¿Cómo hacer de la gravedad y del peso un elemento dramático?
¿Cómo representar el peso físíco y el peso moral?
¿Cómo crear y utilizar físicamente analogías y metáforas del lenguaje (ser impactado por algo, ser movido, ser tocado, resistir e insistir, estar deshubicado, sentirse inestable...)
¿Cómo?
- Estudiaremos las herramientas técnicas que ayudan a dar más peso a una acción o a un desplazamiento
- Trabajaremos a partir del estudios de marchas, figuras y partes de piezas del repertorio de Etienne Decroux
- Propondremos diferentes temas de improvisación con la finalidad de potenciar la imaginación, la creatividad, de aplicar y entender los principios estudiados.

MOVEO January's Laboratory: THE ACTOR AND THE STRUGGLE - WEIGHT, SPORT, EFFORT
The first drama – therefore the first fight - is the fight against the Earth’s gravity. We are all submitted to it, as we all have to stand and stay straight every day. Considering this assertion, Etienne Decroux developed different physical portraits or/and acting categories, in which the fight becomes visible, as for the sportsman, the worker - or invisible, when we want to hide the effort we are making.
Therefore, for the actor, having to control and to play with the weight represents a field of investigation from which one can draw the portrait of our states of mind, of our hopes, of our fights and struggles, in order to create metaphors and to make visible the invisible…
What will we study?
How can we use the effort as a metaphor of a state of mind?
How can we transform gravity and weight into a dramatic element?
How can we represent the physical weight as well as the moral weight?
How can we use and create physical analogies and metaphors of the language (to be hit by something, to be moved, to be touched, to resist and to insist, to be disoriented, to feel unstable…)?
How?
- We will study the technical tools that help give more weight to an action or a displacement
- We will work from the study of walks, figures and bits of pieces taken from the repertory of Etienne Decroux
- We will propose different themes of improvisation in order to foster imagination as well as creativity and to apply and understand the studied principles.

El mimo corporal dramático proporciona al intérprete herramientas para potenciar su expresión y abrir el abanico de sus posibilidades interpretativas. Dramatic Corporeal Mime provides actors and creators with the tools which allow them to strengthen their expression and to open up the full range of interpretative possibilities. Through studying corporeal mime, the performer’s body artificialises so that the invisible can be expressed: thoughts, feelings, memories, interior conflicts. Thus, the creator finds a precise vocabulary, an articulation of space and dramatic rhythms which will lend his work more clarity and amplitude.

From 8 to 12 February 201020 hour workshop, organised by MOVEO - Centre for Training and Creation,
specialised in corporeal theatre and the Etienne Decroux’ Dramatic Corporeal Mime.
The workshop will evolve around the study of the technique of dramatic corporeal mime, improvisation and composition. Its objective will be the teaching of the dramatic and corporeal tools which allow the performer and the creator to place their body in the service of their imagination. Moreover, the workshop will involve a session of videos about dramatic corporeal mime and a discussion.

Stage de 20 heures, organisé par le centre de formation et création MOVEO,
spécialiste en théâtre corporel et mime corporel dramatique d'Etienne Decroux.
Le stage s'articulera autour de l'étude de la technique de mime corporel dramatique, de l'improvisation et de la composition, et aura pour objectif d'enseigner les outils dramatiques et corporels permettant a l'interprète et au créateur de mettre le corps au service de leur imagination.
Le stage se terminera par une session de vidéos de mime corporel dramatique et un débat.

Impartidos por Olivier Decriaud, estos talleres cortos e intensivos (12 horas) están dirigidos a profesionales, estudiantes y cualquier persona que quiera acercarse al teatro de gesto a través del estudio del mimo corporal dramático de Etienne Decroux.
Descripción general:
Aprender a trabajar en grup...o es un punto clave del aprendizaje del teatro.
El trabajo coral, la unidad de un grupo en el escenario, ofrece posibilidades expresivas que el individuo no puede alcanzar.
En eso reside su encanto, su fuerza pero también su dificultad.
Cuanto más grande es el grupo, más grande puede ser su poder de representación, pero también más grandes la dificultades que encontraremos a la hora de trabajar juntos. El mimo corporal dramático, por la precisión del movimiento y del ritmo, la claridad de la articulación corporal y dramática, y la consciencia espacial que desarrolla, permite que los intérpretes creen un trabajo coral complejo, claro, y metafórico.
¿Qué estudiaremos?
- Tomar y dejar el foco, pasar el foco de un intérprete al otro.
- ¿Cuáles son las herramientas técnicas que permiten dar claridad a un trabajo al unísono?
- ¿Cómo ofrecer la imagen de un movimiento de grupo en armonía o, al contrario, de un caos organizado?
- ¿Cómo crear entre un personaje y un coro una relación metafórica?
- El grupo como actor.
¿Cómo?
- El Laboratorio se construirá a partir de los principios del mimo corporal dramático, a través del estudio de recursos técnicos que ofrece este arte para cualquier tipo de intérprete.
- Exploraremos la relación entre el actor y el coro, investigando diferentes situaciones que permitirán al intérprete actuar en relaciones de oposición, de amplificación y de yuxtaposición.
- Pondremos un enfoque particular en la puesta en práctica de los conceptos trabajados con improvisaciones dirigidas, con la finalidad de potenciar la creatividad del intérprete.

Taught by Olivier Decriaud, these Intensive workshops (12 hours) designed for actors and professional dancers, students of dramatic art or dance and anyone wishing to approach physical theatre through the study of the Corporal Dramatic Mime of Etienne Decroux.
General Description:
Learning to work in a group is a key aspect of theatre training.
Choral work, the unity of a group on the stage, offers expressive possibilities which are impossible to attain for an individual. This is where its charm lies, as well as its strength, but also its difficulty. The larger the group, the larger its power of representation, but the larger also the difficulties which we have face when it comes to working together.
Thanks to the precision the movement and rhythm, the clarity of corporeal and dramatic articulation, and the spatial conscience it develops, corporeal mime allows the performers to create a complex, clear and metaphorical choral work.
What will we study?
- Taking and giving up the focus, passing the focus from one performer to another.
- Which are the technical tools that allow us to lend clarity to a work in unison?
- How can we give an image of a group moving in harmony, or – on the contrary – of an organised chaos?
- How can we create a metaphorical relation between one character and the chorus?
- The group as an actor.
How?
- The workshop will be based on the principles of dramatic corporeal mime, through the study of the technical resources which this art offers to any kind of performer.
- We will explore the relation between the actor and the chorus, investigating different situations which allow the performer to act out relationships of opposition, amplification and juxtaposition.
- We will especially focus on the implementation of the concepts we have developed through directed improvisations, with the purpose of enhancing the performer’s creativity.

Laboratorio MOVEO de noviembre: DUOS Y DIALOGOS – COMPLICIDAD Y CONFLICTO
El trabajo en dúo es uno de los aspectos básicos de la interpretación, ya sea en el teatro de texto, en el teatro corporal, en la danza o en la música.
Por eso, su exploración es infinita pero también implica el respecto de unas reglas que varían,... en su aplicación, según el tipo de actuación.
Una persona “dialoga” con otra : hay una escucha, una alternancia, un intercambio. Así se desarrolla un juego, una complicidad o un conflicto. El dúo puede expresar el sentimiento amoroso, o su contrario, y así, convertirse en un primer plano cinematográfico sobre las pasiones humanas. Del dúo hasta el duelo, exploraremos una serie de variaciones posibles.
¿Qué estudiaremos?
- ¿Cómo relacionar dos intérpretes tanto en el espacio como en el tiempo?
- ¿Qué implica, en la escena, la noción de diálogo?
- La articulación corporal como condición de la claridad de un diálogo corporal.
- La escucha como trabajo físico.
¿Cómo?
- El Laboratorio se construirá a partir de los principios del mimo corporal dramático, a través del estudio de recursos técnicos que ofrece este arte para cualquier tipo de intérprete.
- Se propondrán diferentes contextos físicos y dramáticos como puntos de partida para desarrollar diferentes tipos de dúos (atracción - oposición - conflicto).
- Trabajaremos a partir de la noción de causalidades para materializar la relación entre intérpretes.
- Exploraremos la relación de dúo a través de la relación rítmica y de intensidad.

MOVEO November´s Laboratory: DUETS AND DIALOGUES - COMPLICITY AND CONFLICT
Working in duet is one of the basic aspects of interpretation, be it in the theatre of text, corporeal theatre, dance or even music.
Therefore it offers infinite possibilities for exploration, however it also entails a respect for certain rules – which vary, regarding their application, according to the type of performance.
One person enters a ‘dialogue’ with another: there is listening, alternation, exchange. In this way, a play develops, a complicity, or a conflict. The duet can express feelings of love, or their contrary, and thus turn into a cinematographic close-up of human passion. From duet to duel, we will explore a series of possible variations.
What will we study?
- How can two performers relate to each other in space as well as in time?
- What does the notion of ‘dialogue’ imply on stage?
- Corporeal articulation as a condition for clarity in a corporeal dialogue.
- Listening as a physical work
How?
- The workshop will be based on the principles of corporeal mime, through the study of the technical resources which this art offers to any kind of performer.
- We will propose different physical and dramatic contexts as points of departure for the development of different types of duets (attraction – opposition – conflict).
- We will work starting from the notion of causalities in order to materialize the relation between performers.
- We will explore the duet relation through the aspects of rhythm and intensity.

On Saturday, the 14th Novembre: from 10h to 14h and of 15h30 to 19h30
On Sunday, the 15th Novembre: from 10h to 14h

One laboratory: 105 Euros (discount 95 Euros).
Two laboratories: 180 Euros (discount 170 Euros).

Laboratorio MOVEO de Octubre: EL ACTOR COMPLETO - TEXTO Y GESTO
Las palabras son acciones y el conjunto de los movimientos de un actor un lenguaje en si mismo. Así, las dos se complementan y completan, obedeciendo un mismo deseo: transmitir un mensaje, comunicar, ser entendido/a, interpretar, actuar..., y enriquecer el vocabulario del actor. La relación entre estos dos elementos escénicos es compleja, y proponemos dedicar este laboratorio a su estudio.
¿Que estudiaremos?
¿como articular texto y gesto?
¿Que amplitud dar a cada uno, y como?
¿Como coordinar los dos para que uno no repita lo que dice el otro, sino para que trabajen juntos al servicio del interprete
¿Como?
- Pedimos a los participantes que escojen un texto de entre 10 y 15 líneas y lo memoricen. Es necesario que cada uno venga al curso con su texto aprendido. - El Laboratorio se construirá a partir de los principios del mimo corporal dramático, a través del estudio de recursos técnicos que ofrece este arte para cualquier tipo de interprete.
- Exploraremos la relación entre texto y gesto investigando diferentes situaciones de interpretación que permitirán al inteprete probar relaciones de oposición, de complementaridad y de yuxtaposición.
- Pondremos un enfoque particular en la puesta en práctica de los conceptos trabajados con improvisaciones dirigidas, con la finalidad de potenciar la creatividad del interprete. - Utilizaremos partes del repertorio de mimo corporal para combinar texto y alto nivel de fisicalidad.

Words are actions, and the sum of the actor's movement are a language in itself.
These two elements complement and complete each other, and the respond to the same desire: to transmit a message, to communicate, to be understood, to act, and to enrich the vocabulary of the actor.
The relation between these two scenic elements is complex, and we propose to dedicate this laboratory to its study.
What will we study?
how to articulate text and gesture?
What space should we give to each one, and how? How can we coordinate the two so that one does not repeat what other says, but so that they work together to the service of the actor?
How?
- We ask the participants to choose a text of between 10 and 15 lines and to memorize it. It is necessary that each one comes to the course with his text learned.
- The Laboratory will be based on the principles of the corporal mime, through the study of technical resources that offers this art for any type of performer.
- We will explore the relation between text and movement investigating different interpretative situations that will allow the performer to experiment relations of opposition, complicity and juxtaposition.
- We will put in practice the concepts that have been worked on through guided improvisations, with the purpose of improving the creativity of the performer.
- We will use parts of the repertoire of corporal mime to combine text and high level of physicality.
