AIR: Presenting JB and N, the Speakers

Presenting JB and N, the Speakers

Those are the sound sculptures recently created by Kuntzel+Deygas, the two Paris based artists, as a friendly wink to the "stereophonic duo" Air. These two sound objects are entitled JB/N, JB standing for Jean Benoit Dunkel, the left speaker leaning slightly backwards, and the N, standing for Nicolas Godin, the right speaker, leaning slighty forwards. Kuntzel+Deygas' intention was to create a new sound experience. Those sound sculptures have been exposed at colette in August for one month, here is Kuntzel+Deygas' blog.
About Kuntzel+Deygas:Their artistic work is always about characters. They create them and develope special narrative tools in order to bring different fields together.
With this project they wanted to re-explore the sensuality of sound produced by High Fidelity. Using extraordinary materials (magnets, rare soil, precious metals) and a network of specialized manufacturers combined with the almost esotherical mystery of the functioning of sound (air, breath,...) allowed them to open new territories of this audio-visual experience.
This pair of speakers, entitled JB/N, is their second sound project where they've tried to transcend de codes of Hi-Fi.
