El Doing Business The Doing Business Project has developed a pilot set of indicators on the process a private business must go through to obtain an electricity connection for a newly constructed building. A new report contains data for 140 countries. It describes patterns in connection processes and highlights economies where this process is already efficient and others where it could be made simpler and more efficient.

El Doing Business On July 1, 2009 Tajikistan launched a new one-stop shop for business registration, which opened at about 50 tax offices nationwide.The Doing Business 2010 report named Tajikistan as a top reformer of business regulation in 2009.

El Doing Business Members of the Doing Business team presented the results of Doing Business 2010 at an event held in Tbilisi on September 28. Mr. Kakha Baindurashvili, Minister of Finance, Georgia, participated in this year's event. Georgia ranked 11 out of 183 economies, and was the top reformer in the Trading Across Borders indicator.

The first subnational Doing Business report on Russia is now available for download in both English and Russian. Doing Business in Russia 2009 compares business regulations across 10 Russian cities. The report finds that doing business is easier in Kazan, Tver and Petrozavodsk. El Doing Business Kyrgyzstan was a top reformer according to Doing Business 2010. Kyrgyzstan reformed in 7 of the 10 indicators measured by the Doing Business report. Members of the Doing Business team, along with Pat Shapiro, USAID Country Director, and Akylbek Japarov, Minster of Economic Development and Trade, discussed the results at an event on September 14, 2009.
