This talk will help you find ways to make networking work for you. Many people have negative impressions of networking, but by being strategic about meeti...ng people, networking can become easier. We'll discuss the myths and realities surrounding networking and different strategies for networking including: informational interviewing, attending conferences, participation in professional societies, and social networking websites. We'll also discuss some of the nuts and bolts of networking including: proper etiquette, business cards, elevator pitches, and following up with contacts.

After the workshop, join us for a networking reception with other Career Fair participants and industry professionals. Use this as a chance to practice your newly acquired networking skills and make contacts who might be valuable in your job search. Light refreshments will be served.
