    "Shadowplay". I have once listened to it about 100 times without stopping. It's not crazyness, it's just... Fascination.

    The song that sticks in my head most is She's Lost Control. Not only is there the perfect matching of musical emotion and atmosphere with the lyrical content, it also offers an alternative to the cliched image of Ian Curtis as a self-obsessed depressive. Sure it's not the only song that counters the stereotype, but what it really proves is his sympathy for someone else.

    I sometimes wonder if anyone who went to a Joy Division concert feels a little shame when listening to Atrocity Exhibition.

    It changes every day.
    Some time ago my favourite song was Heart and Soul. Now I love I remember nothing, Shadowplay and 24 Hours... it's difficult to pick up only one!

    tough choice....despite only a couple of proper album releases they have a number of fabulous singles....Love will Tear Us Apart is their classic , and you can't go wrong with that one......however, Transmission is my fave!!

    I like Transmission, but musically it reminds me of another band. I just can't put my finger on who at the moment. I think it must be the production.

    I said "your" favourite song, not the "best" song.... But it's interesting to see that everybody's got his own preferences, and sensitive to very different songs !!

    If I had to pick a song by Joy Division to try to win someone over, I'd probably pick "Shadowplay" or "She's Lost Control," for their catchiness. Or I might play "Love Will Tear Us Apart," because that seems like the perfect Joy Division song. But my true favourite is "Insight," for its subtlety and for the intriguing way that it builds. And those strange synth noises make me feel as if he's shooting right at me.
