    You know he was going to make a movie that came close to what Shindler's list was, and was planning on doing a Napolean movie staring Nicholson.

    Harold and Maude is a dark comedy that has some Dr. Strangelove like humor. Story wise it was right up Kubrick's alley. It's not as cold though, so from a director's standpoint, it's not that close in it's feel.

    Some of Aronofsky could be Kubrick influenced- Pi and Requiem for a Dream.

    Full Metal Jacket, the vietnam war.
    2001 - I love the pink Floyd song, in it gives it the best feel that you want from the man's evolution scenes.

    2001, a Space Odissey; no doubt. It led to a complete now era in sci-fi movies. Without it there would't have been any Star Wars; at least not in the way it was made. Nevertheless, a Clockwork Orange is a masterpiece in the combination of sound and vision.

    I would like to have seen Kubrick's proposed Napoleon epic featuring Jack Nicholson, that would have been cool. Also, I think Kubrick could have made an amazing film about the Crusades, had he given them his attention.

    So state films the are obviously heavily influenced by Kubrick, but had no affiliation with them.

    Confused with where this forum is going but:

    Kubrick-esque film that seems a lot like Kubrick stuff: Straw Dogs (yes I know he was alive at the time) perhaps Memento or The Machinist...

    Most Kubrick-like of Kubrick films: errr Space Odyssey?
